Shall I compare thee.......
Textually intervene in sonnet No18 by changing some of the key words. You can alter its meaning and/or change its subject completely. Have fun!
Shall I compare thee to a spring landscape? Thou art more colourful and alive Rough winds blow softly in your hair And we can think that is our last day
Sometime thou feel yourself out of choir And often I feel at the same way And every moment ca be gloomy By our humor or feelings
But thy eternal smile can't bring us to an end Nor can somebody damage our lives Nor can somebody hurt us When we stay together forever
So long as the world can live So long as the peace is the everyday life.
Shall I compare thee to the cool air of spring? Thou art more calm and radiant Light winds do shake the buds of March, And spring's lease has soon an end
Sometime is too cold the mountain breeze, And often rains on the green grass But every fair from fair doesn't fade away By chance or by nature's wish
Thy eternal spring must not fade, Nor the spring will cease to exist Nor your beauty will die When in these eternal lines thou will be remembered
So long as a man can love and forgive So long lives him and he could always believe.
Shall I compare thee to a monkey? Thou art more stupid and more noisy Rough winds do shake the little neuron in your brain, And clever ideas hath all too short a date.
Sometime you try to think, and often you seem to sleep, And every idea from idea always declines, By chance or intelligence's chanching course untrimmed.
But thy eternal foolishness shall not fade nor lose possession of that emptyness thou ow'st, Nor shall your teachers try to make you clever When in eternal dark thou grow'st.
So long as you can breathe or drink or eat So long you live in your silly world.

Shall I compare thee to a nice dream?
ReplyDeleteThou art more peaceful and mellow.
Rough winds break my scream
And in them I find my fellow.
Sometimes too fast the rain fall,
And often can not see her goodness,
And she goes through every wall,
As my dreams hide my loneliness.
But suddenly my dreams vanish,
And I am throw to reality,
And quietly the sun so selfish
steals my dear with brutality.
So long as men let their imagination wander.
So long as I will look behind your shoulder.

Shall I compare you to a puppy?
ReplyDeleteThou art more lively and nice!
Your eyes are bigger and sweeter,
and when I look at you I become happy too!
Sometimes puppy's tale doesn't move
and often they are scared and tired.
But your smile is always on your face
and you cannot stop to laugh and play!
So long as I can stay with you
so long I will enjoy myself too!
