Here is the definition of violence against women given by the United Nations:
"any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life."

Do you agree with Sabrina Franca, director of the Maree antiviolence centre in Rome, who argues that domestic violence is a cultural problem in Italy?
Well, i've always thought that domestic violence against women are somethig brutal and also primitive, but sadly is very common in many developed countrys too. It's a really huge problem, in fact many women died because of this violance. Despite there are many laws around the world that punish who commit domestic violence, the rate of women who are subjected to domestic violence is still very high.
ReplyDeleteDomestic violence against women continues only because women aren't so strong as man, only because they love them and hope that once they will stop treating them in a so inhuman way; this is not right, women should help each other to stop this situation, because everyone should be free, not frightened to live and being born as a woman is not a fault.
ReplyDeleteThere are still too many women suffering in the world; man should learn to talk with them, not to beat them!
When it happens at first, a woman must find the strenght to quit the relationship with the partner immediately. Even though she desperately loves him and her heart wants to give him a second chance, even though he begs her forgiveness on his knees. No way, there are no second chances. If he did it once, be sure he will be able to do it again. I can imagine how painful situations like this would be, but when a woman deliberately decides to remain in silence and accept this abuse, she becomes an accomplice and would be blamed as well as her husband would be. Women are so much stronger than men are, but so used to pain that they sometimes forget they have the right to live happily.
